Metro to head for Gurgaon, Noida in 4 months

  • 18/11/2005

It is finally official. Putting behind flip-flops by state governments and having overcome funding hiccups, the Delhi Metro has tied up all loose ends of its plan to extend the network to Gurgaon and Noida and within four months work on this will start in full swing. About 23 km of Metro network will connect Delhi to these satellite townships and the construction of new lines will be included in Metro's Phase II. The work will finish by 2010, that is, five years from now. The funding details of the project are almost final. Ghaziabad, however, will have to wait as UP government has not been able to decide on which side it would want the Metro line to enter the township.
