Going by the layout plan suggested by the RITES in its detailed project report (DPR), the HUDA has decided to pass Metro train from inside Sikanderpur. This witnessed protests from the residents last month. The residents and traders of village Sikanderpur were up in arms against HUDAs decision to acquire land in the village to accommodate the Metro. However, since the Metro in Gurgaon would be elevated, it would require just two meters of space on the MG Road patch that meanders through Sikanderpur, and the HUDA need not acquire lands on both the sides of the road as was decided earlier.
