Metro rail, it seems will rule the transport sector in India's urban centers. The Indiresan Committee set up to evaluate the feasibility of much talked about sky bus system has found no comparative advantage of the system over Metro rail. Along with other advantages, the Metro carries 30,000 to 1 lakh commuters per hour per direction while the sky bus system can carry only 30,000 commuters, reveals the committee headed by former IIT Chennai director P V Indiresan in its study.
