The fires ravaging Chimalapas forest in Mexico are so massive and remote that the authorities could not even count all the blazes until last week. The blazes not only have sent jungle cats, monkeys and birds fleeing for their lives, but also have reignited long-smoldering feuds between the government and the environmentalists.
