The ancient Shiva Temple at Baijnath which was built in 1204 AD, is under threat because of reckless quarrying and mining in the adjoining Binwa river. This historic temple is situated on the bank of the river. The mining in the river has put a question mark on the survival of the monument which encompasses the essential features of the Nagara temples.
