Minister demands SAF cover to protect forests

Forest Minister Harvansh Singh has demanded deployment of Special Armed Force (SAF) to prevent encroachments and illegal felling of trees at four regions in the Madhya Pradesh state. The proposal had been moved to Home department which is reviewing the proposal. According to information, the Forest Minister has, in a letter to the Chief Minister Digvijay Singh stated that encroachments and illegal felling of trees was continuing unabated in Nimar, Mandla, Harda and Vidisha forest areas.
