The Union Minister for Urban Development, Mr. Bandaru Dattatreya, said the Nagarpalika Act should be amended to give more powers to local bodies. He told press persons that a mayors' meeting would be convened soon to discuss various issues including enlightening the local bodies on various financial assistance available to them from outside.
