Minister inaugurates irrigation scheme at Joysagar

JOYSAGAR, Oct 13: Sivasagar district irrigation department has initiated steps to provide modern irrigation facilities at select locations of the district during the current fiscal year. The move is expected to give a boost to the productivity of agricultural commodities in the district. One such irrigation scheme was inaugurated recently by Minister for Law, Sericulture, Handloom and Textiles Pranab Gogoi at Hahsora Mouza in the district. Speaking at a meeting held on the occasion, Gogoi hoped that proper utilization of modern irrigation facility would lead to economic prosperity of the State. While urging the farmers to work hard to bring a revolutionary change in the agriculture sector, he opined that irrigation is a must for carrying out two crops a year.
