Minister inaugurates NREGA in Sowaguri gaon panchayat

BISWANATH Chariali, Sept 25: The State Minister for Irrigation, Fishery and Soil Conservation Nur Jamal Sarkar formally inaugurated the National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (NREGA) in Sowaguri gaon panchayat under Biswanath Development Block by planting a sapling under social Forestation scheme at Rajgarh here. The function was chaired by the president of the Sowaguri gaon panchayat Saphiur Ullah. An amount of Rs five lakh has been earmarked for the scheme. Addressing the occasion the Minsiter stated under this scheme the environment of the historical Rajgarh would get improved and which would also equally develop the nearby areas. The Minister also stated that under NREGA areas where schemes has been implemented would get vastly developed and furthermore it would provide employment opportunities. He called upon the people to extend cooperation for proper implementation of the scheme. Also addressing the occasion the Block Development Officer Tez Raj Chetri informed the gathering about different salient features of the schemes. The Zilla Parishad member Dipak Das was also present on the occasion as the distinguished guest. The function was also attended by the local PRI members, citizens and others.
