LUCKNOW: The forest officers were directed by the forest minister to meet the plantation targets for Bundelkhand and Vindhyachal regions for 2011-12 on time. The minister also sought clarification from 37 forest divisions, which have not met the plantation targets for the last year or the ones, where the quality of saplings planted has been found to be inferior or labourers employed have not been paid on time. Forest minister Fateh Bahadur Singh held a review meeting of the forest department on Friday. The minister reviewed the revenue targets, action against unauthorised saw mills, compensation released to victims of wildlife attacks and work done under MGNREGS.
