Minister wants mining of forest areas for minerals

The Gujarat state mines and minerals department wants two major and several minor projects to be cleared by the forest department with a view to digging scarce metals and earn revenue for Gujarat. Senior minister in charge of the department, Mr Narottam Patel, has said he would "ever go to Delhi" to get the Central clearance to begin mining certain areas of Ambaji in Banaskantha district and Kadipani of Chhotaudepur taluka in Vadodare district.
