The Science, Technology and Environment Ministry has confirmed its stand against inland shrimp farming with a fresh proposal for a nationwide ban on the business. Prime Minister Chuan Leekpai recently turned down the ministry's proposal for him to ban inland shrimp farming on grounds that its poses a threat to the environment according to Article 9 of the Environment Act.
