Mitsubishi Motors Corp. will launch a compact car that would have the highest fuel efficiency among conventional automobiles, with an improved version of its direct-gasoline-injection engine and a system that automatically shuts down the engine at stops. The company hopes the car will be able to run 78 miles per gallon.
