Monsoon active again in MP

Monsoon is loaded with showers in its tail as date of withdrawal of monsoon from is coming closer and now monsoon has again become active in the State. Sky became completely overcast in the State capital on Wednesday evening and City experienced showers in the evening which gave respite to citizens from hot afternoon weather. The State capital experienced 1 cm rainfall during evening hours. Meteorological Department informed that sky will be partly clouded in the City on Thursday and there is likelihood of rain and thundershowers. City experienced extreme weather on Wednesday as mercury rose to 34 degrees Celsius which was four degrees above normal while in the evening weather became pleasant. Owing to the presence of upper air circulation over Gujarat monsoon has become active in the State. Meteorological Department has warned that during next 48 hours there is possibility of heavy showers in districts of Rewa Sagar and Jabalpur divisions at few places. Date of withdrawal of monsoon from State capital is September 26 and now monsoon has again become active. Under the influence of depression near Cuttak rainfall is likely to occur in all the divisions of State during next 24 hours. Bhopal, Indore, Hoshangabad, Shivpuri districts experienced rainfall at isolated places during last 24 hours. Assistant Meteorologist Manglesh Kumar informed Central Chronicle that there is an upper air circulation over Bay of Bengal and a low-pressure area is lying in Orissa which is causing rainfall in the State. During last 24 hours 4 cm of rainfall was recorded in Shivpuri, 3 cm in Chambal and Rajnandgaon and 2 cm in Damoh, Khurai and Jagdalpur districts. According to the forecast of Meteorological Department there is possibility of rainfall at many places in Rewa, Sagar and Jabalpur during next 24 hours and in rest of the districts of State there are chances of rain at isolated places.
