More toilet blocks in rural schools soon

Ladies Circle India (LCI), an organisation formed by wives of members of Round Table India, will construct 100 toilet blocks in rural schools across the country over the next two years to commemorate the completion of 40 years of its inception. Of this, 25 toilet blocks would be built in schools across Tamil Nadu. The project would be taken up in association with Ladies Circles of Great Britain and Ireland. Addressing press persons here on Thursday, LCI's national president Mona Shangavi said the organisation had spent over Rs.5 crore to enhance infrastructure in schools, including construction of classrooms, toilets and kitchens, and to conduct health camps for children.
