The residents of Faridpur town have been facing mosquito menace for a couple of weeks as the municipality failed to take up any steps in this regard. The people of the district have become annoyed with the authorities concerned as they are haunted by mosquitoes in their residences, offices, business centres and other places but there are no measures to stop them. The residents of many areas of the district town including South Jheeltuli area and North Alipur expressed their dissatisfaction over inactivity of the municipality to check the mosquito menace. The poor people are major sufferers as they have no ability to buy the coils or insect killers regularly. Security guards and floating people are also easy victims. Md Hassan Imam, inhabitant of South Jheeltuli area of the town said they were facing mosquito bites every night.
