The Federation of Transport Unions of Delhi yesterday filed a petition seeking modification of the Supreme Court order scrapping all commercial vehicles in the capital older than 15 years from October 2. It points out that more than ten lakh workers will be rendered unemployed by the order. The federation suggests that the owners should be allowed to substitute parts of the vehicles to stop pollution instead of junking them altogether.
