The Bachpan Bachao Andolan, the nucleus body of the South Asian Coalition for Child Servitude, plans to approach candidates contesting the Lok Sabha elections to place on record their commitment to eradicating child labour. Mr Kailash Satyarthi, founder and chairperson of the SACCS, said that candidates would be required to sign pledge letters stating their will to eradicate child labour and provide free, compulsory and meaningful education to children below the age of 14.
