Mrashtra to release water to Krishna river from March 3

Water from the Dhudhaganga river is likely to be released from Maharashtra's Kalamvadi reservoir into Krishna river from March 3. According to official sources, Maharashtra is expected to release 2.141 tmc feet of water to Karnataka as per existing agreement between the two states on the Dudhganga project. Senior officers of Irrigation Departments in Karnataka and Maharashtra, who met in K-olhapur today reached an agreement that Maharashtra should immediately release 1.5 tmc ft of water from Kalamvadi reservoir.
