Mangalore, DHNS: The security department of Mangalore Special Economic Zone (MSEZ) Limited has detected instances of unauthorised laterite stone business and quarrying being carried out in areas under its jurisdiction. According to a press release, the activities being illegal, MSEZL would be forced to take action against such offenders. The Forest department too has warned of strict action against illegal felling of trees. Another press release stated that the outsiders to the MSEZ area and self styled activists have been harassing people of Permude area, who have already received compensation for their land, to file false complaints against KIADB and officials concerned, threatening them with dire consequences if they did not comply. A case has been registered in this regard.
