Mukesh Ambani interested in developing coastal road in Mumbai

Many eyebrows were raised on Thursday evening as Reliance Industries Ltd Chairman and managing director Mukesh Ambani paid a surprise visit to the headquarters of Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC). Ambani had a two hour long meeting with civic chief Subodh Kumar and discussed many issues related to infrastructure development of the city.
“Ambani has shown keen interest in the coastal road proposal, which is under consideration of the state government at present,” said Subodh Kumar while briefing the media persons after the two hour long discussion.
Kumar has been appointed as the chairman of a 10 member high level technical committee by the state government to find out the feasibility of a coastal road project which will be garlanding across the city and the rest of metropolitan region.
“Ambani said that his company- Reliance Industries Ltd- will definitely be keen to participate in the project if it is eventually cleared by the state and the central government,” said Kumar.
Ambani also discussed the possibility of the redevelopment of Harkisandas Hospital, which is under the control of RIL at present, according to Kumar.
