The National Urban Renewal Mission, which is expected to lift the infrastructure of 60 Indian cities to global level, will be launched on December 3 after being cleared by the Cabinet. The Centre was not allowed to launch the Mission before the Bihar elections as Patna and Bodhgaya were benefiting from the scheme. The scheme, which will be launched as the Jawaharlal Nehru Urban Renewal Mission, was floated during Ghulam Nabi Azad's tenure as Urban Development Minister.
