Multi-crore plan for Mewat development

Bhupinder Singh Hooda CHANDIGARH: The Mewat Development Agency has prepared a Rs.76.90-crore district development plan for Mewat district in accordance with the Prime Minister's new 15-point programme for the welfare of minorities, Haryana Governor A.R. Kidwai and Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda said on Wednesday after a meeting of the Mewat Development Board here. Dr. Kidwai is Chairman of the Board and Mr. Hooda senior Vice-Chairman. They said the scheme would be sent to the Union Ministry of Minority Affairs for providing Rs.76.90 crore which would be used in providing various facilities to the people of Mewat district ranging from health, education, skill development, food processing, agriculture, horticulture, sports and training. They also disclosed that the Haryana Women Development Corporation would henceforth provide micro-credit facilities to poor women at affordable rates of interest which would come down to 4-5 per cent with a subsidy of 3 per cent.
