They are treading a path civic unions never bothered to tread before - that of committing themselves to solving the problems plaguing a civic department they owe their bread and butter to. The Bfihanmumbai Mahapalika Shikshan Sanstha and its members - comprising 10,000 municipal school teachers - the decision to start the Centre for Public Education, a non-governmental organisation (NGO) has embarked on a mission to help students complete their formal education.
