It appears that the Mysore City is heading towards a serious water crisis considering the shortfall of water supply even before the onset of summer. Water supply has been hit due to depleting storage levels in Krishnaraja Sagar reservoir and the demand by a group of farmers not to pump water from the canal for emergency supply. Pumping of raw water has been affected since Monday and 50 per cent of the water requirements of the City areas are not being fulfilled as the storage levels in KRS dam is declining at a rapid rate.
