BERHAMPUR: With the death of a woman, the death toll in unknown disease in Royalpata village in Kasipur block of Rayagada district rose to seven. The disease broke out 13 days back. Another six persons are battling for life while scores of others are suffering from the disease. The village has no road and one has to walk around three km to reach the village. Receiving information, a mobile team of doctors from Kasipur community health centre reached the village and has been treating the patients besides collecting their blood samples. As such the inaccessible areas in Rayagada district, particularly the Kasipur block, regularly experience scores of deaths due to gastro diseases despite crores of rupees being spent on healthcare.
