Naga Agriculture Department assesses bamboo flowering

Kohima, May 3: A high-level team led by the Director of Agriculture Department of Nagaland and senior officials recently visited various areas of Mokokchung district to assess the bamboo flowering in those areas. Official sources said the team, which has visited the forest areas of the district, found that the flowering variety has been identified as the Bambusa Pallida (Ashi), covering a large track of forest areas of about 5,300 hectares of natural bamboo forest has been affected due to rodents and other wild animals.
