Nashik water table dips by 5 mts

Less rainfall and irresponsible drawing of groundwater table, which had dropped by three metres last year, has dipped upto five metres this summer, intensifying water scarcity in Nashik district (Maharashtra). According to a recent survey of 225 wells in the district, under taken by the Groundwater Survey and Development Agency (GSDA), the water table had dropped by five metres in 19 wells.
