National environment awareness and plantation programme held

In order to create awareness on environment among the rural public, a programme on "National Environment awareness and Plantation' was held at Hatidhura senior Madrassa, under Tamarhat PS in Gossaigaon subdivision of Kokrajhar district recently. The programme was organised by Reform Society, an NGO of Oxiguri, Hatidhura. The purpose of the programme was explained by Kismot Ali Sheikh, secretary of the NGO. Fayajuddin SK, Junior Engineer, Hatidhura Development block, Dipendra Narayan Das Forest Ranger, Guma Range, Abu Taher SK, Assistant teacher, Hatidhura Senior Madrassa, Mrinal Kanti Roy, member, of the NGO, Anarul Hoque, president, Reform Society, Babar Ali Pradhani, Aklima Khatun both social workers, spoke at length on the importance of trees on social environment and called upon the people and the growing students to protect their environment. The plantation programme was inaugurated by Ranger Dipendra Narayan Das, and saplings of various types were planted around the school campus on the occasion. The meeting was chaired by Nirod Chandra Pradhani, ex-president, Tamarhat GP.
