A national heritage regulation policy, along the lines of the one adopted by the Maharashtra Government in Mumbai, and, more recently, by Andhra Pradesh in Hyderabad, has been mooted by the Indian National Trust for Art and Cultural Heritage (INTACH) whose role would be to provide technology and finance to help restore and preserve degraded buildings and sites of historical value in metros.
