Social activist and Magsaysay award winner Rajendra Singh said that he was opposed to national river grid scheme as it was impractical and would lead to disputes among states. Talking to reporters, Rajendra Singh said that 100th part of the total money allocated for the scheme could make water available in every village. He said that water is state subject and state governments don't know how much water is available with them and how much should be released.
