'Natural' forestry plan fights fires with fire

With the embers of this year's wildfires still smoldering across the West, the warring factions that have fought for decades over what to do with America's public lands have finally agreed on one thing: The forests are sick.After years of delay, a coalition of highly politicized interests appears ready to push the federal government to embark upon an unprecedented attempt to restore great swaths of public forest by thinning out billions of trees and returning a more natural cycle of prescribed burning to the land.
