Reforestation of degraded forestland may be an uphill task for the Government, but for Babloo Ganguly and his wife Mary, it is much easier than it is projected to be. "You don't need massive plantations and huge funds. Just plant some saplings ad protect them from felling and fire. The forest regenerates on its own," they say. And indeed, they have demonstrated what they said. The couple planted some saplings at Timbaktu in interior Anantpur district that is now developing into a minor forest. "The flora multiplies its species in its own way and the fauna flock to the forest when it develops," they aver.
