'Nature impacts health'

Bangalore, DHNS: : Environmentalist A N Yellappa Reddy, on Sunday, said that nature has great impact on human health. Life in forests, where rate of pollution is less, is healthy and peaceful. However, those living in highly polluted areas have serious problems. Speaking after inaugurating one-day Continuing Medical Education (CME) programme on Influence of Genetics, Race, Religion and Ethnicity in Child Care organised by Lakeside Education Trust in Bangalore, Yellappa Reddy said during his days in forest as Forest Officer he encountered many wild animals. But there was no threat to life. However, because of pollution human habitat is exposed to deadliest diseases, he said. Dr A Mahadevaiah, director of Basavangudi ENT Care Centre and Dr K S Nagesh Professor of Oral Medicine and Radiology were felicitated on the occasion.
