The Narmada bachao andolan has contested the government claim of carrying out rehabilitaion work of villagers to be affected by submergence due to Sardar Sarovar Project on Narmada river, at war footing saying hundreds of oustee families stand submerged once the monsoon sets in. An NBA statement alleged that no proper rehabilitation programme for the project oustees has been chalked out by both Maharashtra and Madhya Pradesh Governments.
