NCC cadets are gearing up to make Chennai city greener. They will soon embark on a month-long movement to plant thousands of saplings in and around the city in Defence land, in their colleges, schools and homes. The campaign for a 'Green and Clean' City, aimed at involving the younger generation, particularly students, in sapling plantation, would be kicked off by the Commandant of the Officers' Training Academy (OTA), Major General S D Awasthi on November 1 at the Island Grounds in the presence of the local NCC Directorate Deputy Director General Commodore P O Singh.
