"To improve the existing infrastructure of tourism and make the Bodoland Territorial Autonomous District a major hub of tourists from lower Assam, the executive committee of BTAD is trying to develop the infrastructure of Manas Wild Life Sanctuary as an international tourist destination," said Mr Bishiram Narzary, the newly elected executive member of BTAD who is also in-charge of forest, soil conservation and library services, while talking to this correspondent here recently. Also, in order to boost the manpower to safeguard the forest cover and its flora and fauna from the smugglers, he said that with the prior approval from the State Government, a new forest task force will be set up which will comprise of the ex-BLT cadres of the State.
