New agri research centre to help farms: CM

The State Government is making all possible efforts to bring benefits of research findings in agricultural laboratories to farms while also connecting the younger generation with agricultural education, Chief Minister Raman Singh said on Monday. Addressing a massive public gathering at Bhatapara in Balauda Bazar district after inaugurating the Government Agriculture College and Research Centre, Singh said the number of agriculture colleges opened since the formation of State 12 years ago had now risen to 10. It may be mentioned that the new Government Agriculture College named after Dau Danvir Kalyan Singh at Bhatapara would, for the time being, be running from the hostel of Agriculture Science Centre till the college building gets ready. Singh said there are two Agricultural Engineering colleges operational in the State and in the similar lines, the new Agriculture College at Bhatapara had been established. The establishment of the Agriculture College at Bhatapara would serve as a milestone in promotion of agriculture education and in the development of farming in the State, he added.
