New buildings will be constructed for the 139 health sub-centres in Tamil Nadu under the National Rural Health Mission. The project would provide buildings for sub-centres in remote areas where the existing structures were found to be unsuitable for use. A sum of Rs 20.91 crores was sanctioned by the National Project Coordination Committee of the NRHM. The Health Unit District (HUD) of Perambalur has got the highest number of new buildings under the project with 19 buildings.
