The Himachal Pradesh State Electricity Board (HPSEB) has invited fresh bids from leading companies manufacturing 0.85 power factor (PF) compact fluorescent bulbs under the Atal Bijli Bachat Yojana. HPSEB chairman R.K. Jain, confirming the move on CFL tenders, said the last date for submitting the tenders would be October 10 and thereafter the HPSEB will go ahead with distribution of the bulbs. The scheme had run into trouble after the HPSEB had earlier accepted the bids of four companies who apparently had quoted higher prices.
