Lobsters are fancy species among fish lovers with price being no barrier in markets like Singapore, Japan and the US. The National Institute of Ocean Technology (NIOT) , involved in the development of necessary technologies in the fields of coastal and environmental engineering for comprehensive and sustainable development of the coastal zone and the islands of the country, is embarking on a two-pronged programme to reduce the fishing pressure on these resources.
