A new non-government organisation (NGO), Society for Development of Environment Laws and Management, in short E Law Society, has been set up at the instance of lawyers and judges to protect the environment through sustainable development. E Law is different from existing environmental NGOs in that it takes a legal view of the matter and feels environmental laws can be enforced and new pollution control measures can be introduced without measures can be introduced without help from courts, as is the case today.
