The corporates and non-Governmental organisations (NGOs) should adopt villages and make full literacy possible, according to Dr. S.K. Somaiya, Chairman, Education Committee, FICCI.Inaugurating a workshop organised by FICCI, on "Total literacy - Government, NGOs and corporate-sector synergy", Dr. Somaiya said that in the 50 years of Independence, the country's literacy rate grew by only 32 per cent.
