Non-Governmental organisations (NGOs) and people's representatives including memebers of Parliament should function in a mutually-complementary way - forming a platform of solidarity - to combat poverty. Articulating this view, the former Lok Sabha Speaker, Mr. P.A. Sangma, called for a two-pronged approach to eradicate poverty from the country.
