No auctioning of sand mines: State

March 20: The state government has decided to cancel the auctioning of sand reaches in the state till the completion of elections keeping in view the model code of conduct. But it decided to review its decision on Saturday. A senior official of the mines and geology department said the CEO would be consulted in this regard on Saturday in this regard. During the hearing of a petition filed by Mr P. Veera Raghavulu of West Godavari district, Justice C.V. Ramulu asked the counsel, Mr Surya Satish, if there are any unofficial members in the district committees constituted to conduct the auctions. Mr Satish replied in the negative. The judge remarked that in such a case everything would be stopped including salaries till the completion of the elections.
