No basic educaiton for 67 m Indian children

Over 350 million Indians will enter the new millennium unable to read or write and 67 million children have no access to basic education. Such is the dismal state of affairs according to the United Nation's The State of the World's Children -2000 report, which was submitted to the President of India, Mr K R Narayanan, today.
