The Thane ( Maharashtra) municipal corporation decided to stop using its only dumping ground at Kharegoan along the Bhiwandi bypass road. The National highway authority of India in a letter to the TMC last week had asked it to stop dumping garbage on the plot as it was over running its capacity.
