No let up in dengue cases, 80 more tested positive

The number of dengue patients in the State has crossed 3,000 with 80 new patients testing positive on Sunday. Sources in the Health Department said that out of a total of 154 blood samples tested at several laboratories in the State, 80 tested dengue positive.
With this, the total number of dengue patients in the 27 affected districts of the State has gone up to 3,040. The only three districts which have remained free from the deadly virus so far are Boudh, Malkangiri and Sambalpur.
Jajpur district has the maximum of 996 patients, of which most hail from the industrial area of Kalinganagar.
Till Sunday, the number of patients in Baleswar district was 381 followed by 279 in Bhadrak, 258 in Keonjhar, 147 in Cuttack, 186 in Dhenkanal, 309 in Jagatsinghpur and 116 in Kendrapada.
While the official record has put the dengue death toll at seven, unofficial sources have put the number at more.
