No parking fee in areas existing prior to 1962

The North Delhi Municipal Corporation will not charge any conversion or parking fees from commercial areas that have been in existence prior to 1962. North DMC Mayor Azad Singh, Standing Committee Chairman Ram Kishan Singhal and Leader of the House Dr. Mahender Nagpal made the announcement during a press conference on Thursday.
The announcement makes commercial areas like Jama Masjid, Chitli Kabbar, Bazar Sitaram, Ajmeri Gate, Chandni Chowk, Fatehpuri, Lajpat Rai Market, Kashmere Gate, Mori Gate, Malka Ganj, Shabzi Mandi, Bara Hindu Rao, Sadar Bazar, Nabikari, Kadam Sharif, Ram Nagar Paharganj, Madal Basti, Manakpura, Naya Bazar and Jhandewalan Scheme Block-E free from the threat of sealing.
“Earlier, every year the traders had to submit proof of running the trade prior to 1962. The announcement is being made in the interest of the traders of the areas. The corporation would organise camps in the commercial areas to issue on-the-spot trade licences to traders,” they added.
