The 9,500 villagers and longhouse residents in Bakun, involved in a resettlement exercise this July, have appealed for their relocation to be postponed indefinitely. Bakun Region People's Committe chairman Bato Bagi said there was no need for the resettlement exercise since the RM13.6bil hydroelectric dam project had been shelved indefinitely.
